Why is Te not assertiveness in Socionics?
First of all, let's look into what assertiveness is as a term:
Having or showing a confident and forceful personality. (Google search).
Now, let's go back to Socionics.
Socionics Te is not "assertiveness", because being assertive is a behavioural trait, first of all, that is based on psychological personal qualities - psychological states of the person.
Recalling the theory, Te is anything within the field of practical logic and how to do things - making tech related things or business related things, starting from simple practical actions as making coffee or cleaning stains on clothes, ending with complex technological processes like repairing PCs or dealing with economical processes.
Having assertiveness as we already looked into briefly, goes back to self-confidence that's a personal psychological attitude, but it's not that simple and exclusive to psychology! Because we are adding an information element of Socionics to it and as result this personal attitude and information element that's Se forms this concept.
Se (Black Sensing) = static external form, state, qualities & resources of physical power fields or objects/people, of difference in them and of power of one thing and another.
This difference shows the reason why Te is not about being assertive, not only because it's a psychological thing, but also from Socionics perspective of adding IMEs (information elements).
Explaining the possible assertive nature of Te leads in some examples:
- Both Te leads have Se - one has 2 Dimensional valued (LIE, Gamma quadra), other one has 4 Dimensional unvalued, but strong (LSE, Delta quadra);
- Because of this, both are capable of telling the external static qualities of the field or the object, each to their Dimensionality; as well as their own static qualities and if they see themselves having the resources and by comparing they see the possibility to win (overpower by the hoarded information Se + Logics Macroaspect (Te+Ti)), they will be assertive;
